This evening will feature solo sets each by Rebecca Hennessy on piano and voice and Emily Steinwall on guitar and voice.

Emily Steinwall is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrument from Toronto. With a style that draws influence from a wide variety of genres, Steinwall and her band have made a reputation for themselves in Toronto’s music scene with their psychedelic and transportive performances. Steinwall has been performing since she was a child, and comes from a family of performers and musicians. In 2017, she graduated from Humber College's Jazz program with a degree in saxophone, and in that same year was named one of CBC’s “35 best Canadian jazz artists under 35”. In 2021, Steinwall released her debut album “Welcome to the Garden” which was awarded SOCAN’s 2022 songwriter prize. Now Emily has been performing around the city in preparation to record her second studio album, which is scheduled for recording in February 2024.

Rebecca Hennessy is an award-winning trumpeter, singer, composer and bandleader. In April 2023, she released her acclaimed second vocal album,“Joy Will Find Us”, which followed her 2020 celebrated debut vocal album, “All The Little Things You Do”. She has released 10 albums to date as a bandleader or co-bandleader and is currently working on a new album featuring her original music using the poetry of Thomas King. Rebecca’s original music has sounds that travel through roots, jazz and Americana traditions.
