Though its cold outside, the timing of this show is perfect … its Carnival season in Trinidad!
While ‘calypso’ would be the closest descriptor for the music of Shak Shak, their music contains a multitude of the flavours of the English Caribbean and its diaspora. Shak Shak also serves as a vehicle for the original music of Roger Gibbs, a unique and highly-gifted Barbados-born and Toronto-based singer songwriter and guitarist.
Please join Roger and the band — multi-instrumentalists Chris Wilson and Jim Bish, bassist Bryan Huntley and the legendary ‘Panman Pat’ McNeely on steel pan — as they join forces with Rebecca Campbell and Rakesh Tawari from Zac faves The Special Interest Group for a night of warm vibes for a cold winter.
Transnational sounds and a unique musical collaboration not to be missed!
