The Jesse Winchester Project
Bob Cohen and I, original bandmates in Jesse Winchesters Midnight Bus, had been trying for years to get together and record some of our favorite Jesse tunes. On October 21, 2022, accompanied by my brother Harold, on guitar 2, Rebecca Campbell on vocals, Ed Roth on Keyboards, Malcolm Gould on Drums, Robin Easton Recording engineer, and of course the fabulous Marcus Lee Winchester on lead vocals, we spent a very short six hours recording six of our favorite Winchester tunes.
The mixed, tweaked, and enhanced tracks were posted on YouTube and Vimeo as a gift to Jesse’s fans, family, and friends.
We recently decided that round two was necessary, so we are in the studio recording another set of tunes. We discovered that this evening at the Transac was open, so we jumped at the chance to have some fun and do a live gig! We will do a bunch of Winchester tunes, some old some new, but all in the manner that we know Jesse liked.
The players for the evening are Rebecca Campbell – vocals, Bobby Cohen – guitars etc, Harold Harris – guitars etc, Ed Michael Roth– keyboards, accordian, Martin Worthy – drums, percussion, Marty Harris – bass
