Tavern of Song

Tavern of Song began in the summer of 2022 as a shared endeavour between the father/daughter programming duo, Jim and Meredith Shedden. Their goal was to host a regular concert series at their neighbourhood pub that uplifted up and coming musicians, highlighted established members of the Toronto live music scene, and fostered community between audiences and performers, through an informal and welcoming atmosphere. Since its inception, Tavern has taken place at The Dominion Pub and Kitchen, Boxcar Social Harbourfront, and now finds a home right here at the Tranzac club! For each event, Jim and Meredith will decide upon a theme, around which the lineup of performers will shape their 3-4 song sets, whether it be part of their pre-song patter or the subject matter of the song itself. This month, their theme is "Changes", lovingly named after the David Bowie hit song of 1972. The events run on a "Pay What You Can" model through cash or e-transfer donations.
