Justin Orok:

Justin Orok is an Ontario-based singer-songwriter, guitarist, and composer. He is best known for his narrative songwriting and creative approach to guitar playing. Orok is a key member of the Toronto-based new folk group, Decoration Day. Their record, Makeshift Future, was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award in the category of “Pushing the Boundaries”, and featured on CBC’s Fresh Air, Indie 88, and more. Orok also released his debut album as a solo artist, Kanata, in October 2022. The record was positively received locally as well as abroad, and was featured in Japan’s Tower Records and multiple year-end lists. This song-focused record features musicians including Justin Haynes, Felicity Williams, Christine Bougie, Andrew Downing, Michael Davidson, Jesse Zubot and was produced by Jean Martin (Barnyard Records, Tanya Tagaq). He is currently working on a follow-up record to be released in 2024. Outside of his original projects, Orok has performed as a side person with John Southworth & The South Seas, Andrew Downing, Kim Barlow, Roddy Ellias, and many more. He also works as a freelance media composer, songwriter, and music teacher.

 

Sarah Greene:

Sarah Greene is a songwriter, writer and booker/curator from Toronto. Her songs are intimate, concise and idiosyncratically classic. Working in warm, soulful country-tinged folk-rock ballads, Greene examines loneliness, vulnerability, and the tugging poles of freedom and attachment in her songs. She released two recordings as the front woman of mid-2000s indie-folk band The Pickups before putting out her debut solo album, Toronto Blues, in 2011. She is currently recording her sophomore album.

Sarah Greene Presents features a selection of local and visiting songwriters and musicians.
