Robertson & Robertson Closing Reception

In their second joint exhibit, mother and son, Erin Robertson and Niall Robertson-Patterson present works created in isolation. During the pandemic, Niall created while working in an urban setting and raising a young child. Erin was living with her dog in a rural utopia.

Niall Robertson-Patterson grew up in an artistic community in Ottawa and expressed a love for painting from an early age. His bold  abstracts blend graffiti with conceptual and traditional techniques in mixed media focusing on movement and texture while reacting to layers over time. Niall’s approach to painting is instinctive and direct.

Erin Robertson grew up on three continents, spending her formative years in rural Ontario and East Africa.  She studied life drawing in France, Fine Arts at Ontario College of Art and at Guelph University before settling in the Ottawa Region to raise her two awesome sons. Erin now resides along the Gatineau River in Alcove, Quebec where she works out of River Road Studio. Her oil paintings in this show are part of a series entitled “Out of the Woods” inspired by her rural surroundings.
