Our Way to Fall's fifth anniversary celebration!
Five years ago, we accidentally started a band when I (Joe Strutt) asked Liz and Del to join me to open up a show I had put together with the redoubtable Nidus. Playing together was fun and easy, and we eventually got around to doing some more of it, accumulating a name and a sort of of loose aesthetic zone along the way. We even have a blurb:
Our Way to Fall incorporates tapes, voice, clarinet and synth into improvised soundscapes documenting dreams, memories and other uncanny spaces. Mixing poetry with field recordings and other found sounds, the band meshes the visions of Liz Lima (Phth, Land of Kush, Ensemble SuperMusique), Del Stephen, and Joe Strutt (Heraclitus Akimbo, Stargoon). Spontaneous pop songs are collaged and remixed in real time, bringing a unique immediacy to every performance. We're on our way to fall in love.
