Let’s Talk: Live Music Labour in Ontario

Calling all live music industry workers – past, present, and future!
We know working in live music is tough. Whether you’re currently working in the industry, recently left, or looking to make your start – we want to hear from you!
The Canadian Live Music Association (CLMA), in partnership with Nordicity, is conducting a study on the labour shortage in live music to better understand why people are leaving and what conditions are needed to create an ideal working environment. The ultimate goal of this research is to identify ways to improve the retention and sustainability of a live music workforce, as YOU are the key to a thriving live music industry in Ontario.
To that end, Nordicity is holding three open houses in cities across Ontario to hear from you. Final stop: Toronto!
Doubling as a networking opportunity, this free event is open to all live music industry workers – from venue owners, sound/lighting technicians, event and festival producers, PR and promoters, tour managers, and beyond. Come drop in and share your thoughts on Tuesday, May 30th at 6-8pm at The Tranzac Club (Living Room).
