Harm Reduction 101: Safer Partying
The party scene has drastically changed since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. All around the city, there is a distinct shift in how people are using substances— and it has posed challenges for nightlife workers who may not have the necessary tools or knowledge to respond to current drug-related crises.
In this hands-on 2 hour workshop, we will learn how the overdose crisis shifted to become the drug poisoning crisis— and explore the relationship between drugs, people and systems. We will also discuss drug-mixing, stimulant use and introduce new skills for de-escalation and overdose response. Each participant will also receive a Naloxone kit (if desired) with training on spotting and responding opioid overdose.
