Dan Pitt Quintet (vs. Trio)

Dan and his quintet return to the Tranzac to perform a new book of original music to prepare for the upcoming recording of their next album. The group features Dan's longtime trio of Alex Fournier on Double Bass and Nick Fraser on drums along with Patrick Smith and Naomi McCarroll-Butler bringing a tetrad of woodwind instruments to the mix.
This experimental jazz ensemble has prepared two sets of brand new original music which serves as a vehicle for the band to take in whatever direction they want, as far out as they want to go. From the ambient folk-like pieces to aggressive, heavily arranged, jazz-rock epics, this music offers a broad range of sounds and textures that shows Pitt’s ability to create music that isn’t constrained by the limits of any style or genre.
