The Brodie West Quintet

A note from Brodie West:
For my monthly at the Tranzac I will often schedule my quintet called The Brodie West Quintet which is Tania Gill piano, Josh Cole bass, Nick Fraser drums, Evan Cartwright drums and myself. Sometimes the drummers are substituted up and in that case it's usually Phil Melanson who is there on drums. The BWQ plays my own compositions exclusively. If I can't bring the quintet, and that happens often as these are some of the busiest musicians around, then I will switch things up a bit. My other favorite thing to do is to play with The Donna Lee Quartet, which is with also Josh Cole, Nick Fraser and myself but with the addition of guitarist Reg Schwager. The Donna Lee Quartet plays bebop compositions but in a more exploratory and experimental fashion that your would expect when you think of the Bebop tradition. Please come hear what's up! "
