Peripheral Vision Trio with Alex Maksymiw

With Don Scott away, Peripheral Vision will do a trio set with Trevor Hogg (saxophone), Michael Herring (bass) and Nick Fraser (drums), and then will invite up their Berlin-based guitarist friend Alex Maksymiw for a quartet set.
Alex Maksymiw is a guitarist/composer from Toronto, Canada and resides in Berlin. He has played and or recorded with Marcus Strickland, David Binney, Sam Harris, Reggie Washington, and any of the worlds best musicians. He is active on the music and creative scene in Berlin and has performed extensively in Europe and North America and Asia. He has performed as a sideman dozens of commercially available recordings and has 5 albums of his own as a leader.
Peripheral Vision is one of the most exciting and innovative jazz quartets on the international jazz scene, performing together for over 10 years. Based in Toronto, Canada, the creative leaders of the group are long time musical collaborators, guitarist Don Scott and bassist Michael Herring. They have assembled a synergistic musical unit designed to push the boundaries of jazz while engaging the listener with a grooving, toe-tapping immediacy. Their distinctive musical voice bridges tradition and innovation, with deeply felt influences ranging from jazz, rock, classical, and improv, with a focus on dynamic group interaction.
