c_RL / Wenderly Park / Fish with an “F”

May 26, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

c_RL (Allison Cameron, Nicole Rampersaud, Germaine Liu)
Improvising together for over a decade, this is a rare opportunity to catch all three members of this trio in the same room. Whether exploring electroacoustic abrasiveness or quilting soft blankets of sound, Germaine Liu (percussion), Nicole Rampersaud (trumpet), and Allison Cameron (small electronic objects and more) equally give the feeling of friends hanging out and co-conspirators on the loose in a secret laboratory.

Joining c_RL for the middle set will be Wenderly Park. Wenderly Park is a humble (but cozy) triangle of greenspace in North York. Former neighbours Fahmid (fuzZy) Nibesh (1/2 of Flip Side) and Joe Strutt (a.k.a. Heraclitus Akimbo, member of Stargoon and Our Way to Fall) would sometimes cross paths there. Wenderly Park (the group) is a project dedicated to teasing out the infinite possibilities of every vibration, deploying drone oscillators and electronic processing (and some analog sound-sources as well) to create a humble (but cozy) sound — albeit with some rough edges from the thorny inquiries along the way. Their self-titled debut is forthcoming on Dark Matter tapes.

Opening the night will be Fish with an "F". Fish with an "F" is a *not* fish with a "Ph". They are Brian Abbott (guitar), Andrew Furlong (bass) and Mark Zurawinski (drums), an improvising trio of aquatic intrigue and camaraderie. They are also playing on Sunday, May 21, 10pm at the Tranzac Front Room.
