Thursday 1 November: Annie Lou CD Release

Annie Lou CD Release at The Tranzac, Nov. 1, 2012

Doors open 7 pm, show starts

$15 at the door, or reserve tickets at annieloumusic@gmail.com

Drawing from old-time musical traditions, Annie Lou’s music taps into the homey
ruggedness and open skies of the Canadian landscape. Annie Lou’s second
release “Grandma’s Rules for Drinking” delivers the same great energy
as the band’s Juno and WCMA nominated first release, with an added elegant
touch and subtle maturity. Songs map a homescape of hard-drinking grandmas,
husbands away in the wilderness, rural dancehalls, blue-collar fashions, and the
deep snows and silences of a Canadian winter.

The Tranzac show will have an all-star cast of musicians who played on the
album, including John Showman, Andrew Collins, Max Heineman, Frank Evans,
Kristin Cavoukian, and Yukoner Kim Barlow. And Toronto’s very own Lost Girl
will be opening! It’s gonna be great!
